A Final Note on General Intent vs. Specific Intent

One commits a crime with “general intent” by acting voluntarily with the knowledge that they are committing a prohibited act. (Example: Battery.) By contrast, one acts with “specific intent” when one, in addition to acting knowingly, desires the specific outcome or result of the act.
